Fire House Dog Man

Fire House Dog Man is a 2001 arson thriller film written and directed by Doug E. Mann and distributed by SMEGME 95 ENT Productions. The film stars Doug Mann, Adam Mills, Bradley Dollins, Matt Williams and Jeffrey DeCristofaro as Anthony Bologna. Fire House Dog Man is the first film featuring the character of "Dogman," played by Doug Mann, a mysterious mix of dog and man.

Plot

Sgt. Dogman (Doug Mann) serves as a firefighter for the city of Decent Gardens. He is reprimanded by the Chief (Adam Mills) and demoted and put on leave after accidentally killing three people with an axe during an attempted rescue. Devastated, Dogman takes a walk to a bridge, intending to commit suicide. As he prepares to jump, his former mentor Axe Hatchett appears to him in a vision and encourages him to continue living. He gives Dogman a mystical stone.

Shortly afterward, Dogman is reinstated at the Decent Gardens Fire Department. His fellow firefighters Lt. Buddy Dwyer (Brad Dollins) and Fire Larry (Matt Williams) confront him and mock his doglike nature. That night, while Dogman is celebrating his reinstatement at a bar, the Chief informs him there had been another arson in a series of arsons in the city. Dogman becomes enraged and has a violent tantrum causing massive property damage to the bar.

The next day, during an emergency response to a car accident, Dogman's canine instincts take over and he attempts to play fetch with a severed leg. Later the Chief reprimands him and demotes him again.

Meanwhile in an abandoned warehouse Dwyer who it turns out is the serial arsonist and his cohort Anthony Bologna (Jeffrey DeCristofaro) plot the next arson. Then they do it and Dogman is called to the scene. Upon arriving to the burning building Dogman becomes distracted by a passing car and runs off chasing it leaving the house to burn to the ground. Once again he is berated and demoted.

Dogman tracks down Anthony Bolonga and tortures him to find out who is the serial arsonist. Mr. Bologna refuses to talk so Dogman cut off his head. Later Dogman feels humiliated while cleaning the bathrooms at the fire station and lashes out at a firefighter who walks in, tearing out his jugular vein. After the incident the Chief is forced to dismiss Dogman from the Fire Department.

Despondent Dogman goes back to the bridge, ready to jump. Axe Hatchett reappears and reminds Dogman of the mystic stone. Dogman takes the stone out of his pocket and it begins to glow and fly. The stone leads Dogman to a shed behind the fire station. He digs around and uncovers Buddy Dwyer's arsonist notebook, filled with the addresses of the burned buildings. He shows the evidence to Fire Larry and they confront Dwyer. Dwyer shoots at Dogman but Fire Larry sacrifices himself to block the bullet. Dwyer's gun jams and Dogman hacks him to pieces with his axe.

In the last scene Dogman is reinstated to the Fire Department again for solving the arson case.
